What are ‘management accounts’? Do I need them?
No business can be managed effectively without regular feedback about it’s performance. Much of the time, many business owners rely upon cashflow as an indicator of the relative success of their business, but this only tells part of the story. Management accounts show business managers exactly how well their business is doing, according to standard accounting measures, and can be tailored so that only the most useful and relevant information is provided on a regular basis.
We recommend that management accounts are prepared on at least a quarterly basis and more effectively on a monthly basis. Call us on 0845 330 8180 to arrange a meeting to discuss how you can benefit from having tailored management accounts for your business.

What deadlines do we have to meet?
The deadlines which you need to meet depend upon how your business is constituted, i.e. whether you are a sole trader, a partnership or a limited company, or whether you use another vehicle for your activities. Companies have to file accounts with Companies House within 10 months of the company’s accounting year end and submit accounts to HM Revenue and Customs within 12 months of the accounting year end. As a sole trader or partnership, the submission of accounting information is made to HM Revenue and Customs only according to the self-assessment deadlines which apply to individuals, i.e. by 31 January following the end of the tax year. Failure to meet these specific deadlines can result in the application of hefty fines. Call us on 0845 330 8180 to find out more about how we can guarantee your accounts can be submitted on time and without penalty.
